Coffee Bur Grinder

Options
Having recently acquired a Gaggia coffee maker I need to get a good quality bur grinder for espresso machines, however there are so many makes I would like some recommendations from people. Any opinions welcomed - thank you.

  • I think this is the same model as I bought my in laws a while ago and at the price point seemed good value. They use it every day and havent had any problems. Although it can be a little messy when you need to clean it.

Obviously if you want the best then some forums recommend at £450 the following (although not sure its really money saving)

The thanks button seems to have disapeared so thank you anyway. I have shortlisted the Dualit one although no one grinder stands out as the dogs whatsits unless you spend loads which I haven't got. Thanks again for the reply.

'experts' say the grinder is more important then the espresso machine.

I recently bought a Cuisinart burr grinder from Costco, it was really noisy and made a nasty mixture of dust and lumps, not very good for espresso. I have returned that one. There is not much choice of good quality grinders on the high street even in Whittards or John lewis

I think it might be worth spending more on something like this. It seems well reviewed by the regulars at Coffegeek where the subject is discussed in great depth and I`m quite tempted at £99.
