Well, I've been playing freezer dip for the past couple of months, so I finally went grocery shopping on pay day (Wednesday :) ).

    So, here's this weeks:

Friday - veggie risotto with parmesan
Sat - Salmon / crushed new potatoes
Sun - lunch - HM carrot & ginger soup, dinner - Mr Ed's chicken curry
    Mon - veggie pasta
Tues - no idea ... could be sausages
    Wed - Wild rice salad
Thurs - Chinese takeaway post WW ;)
Fri - Fruity pork casserole with rice
Sat - Sticky chicken drumsticks with garlic bread
Sun - lunch - HM ham & lentil soup, dinner - fish 'n' wedges with veggies
Mon - Baked spuds / tuna / mayo / sweetcorn
Tues - lunch - toasties, dinner - HM quiche, new pots & salad

I know that's a week and a half, but I've just sat down and done it :)
    GC - March 2024 -
  • Just finished mine for next week - starts on Weds:

    Beef lasagne with salad
    Fish pie & veg
    Chicken tikka & home-made naan
    Mushroom pasta bake
    Lamb chops, mash and veg
Poached egg, beans and mushrooms on toast
Rosemary roast pots & Spanish tomato sauce

Lunches are mostly sandwiches on home-made bread, jacket potatoes and home-made pizza (using leftovers).

Breakfasts are porridge/home-made fruit toast/home-made yoghurt and fruit.

Snacks are Nutrigrain bars, rice cakes, fruit or home-made peanut butter shortcake.
I like you. I shall kill you last.

This is what I think we're having, but it might well change.

Sat lunch: garlic bread (bought) with bacon, black pudding & eggs (result of market trip)
Sat dinner: lemon chicken, garlic prawns (using cooked prawns from freezer), rice, bok choy & broccoli in oyster sauce, prawn crackers
Sun lunch: beans* on toast with cheese
Sun dinner: roast pork*, roast potatoes*, carrots, cauliflower and anything else that's lying around
Mon dinner: leftover roast pork in gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots
Tues dinner: chicken breasts cooked with honey & soy, mixed veg stir fry, rice
Wed dinner: macaroni cheese topped with tomatoes, green beans*
Thurs dinner: trout baked in foil with a ginger, mirin & soy marinade, steamed baby potatoes*, peas, beans*
Fri dinner: sausages, aunt bessie's yorkshire puddings (in freezer), onion gravy and whatever vegetables are left

The shopping list for this isn't massive, and I'll just go to the market for butter, meat and veg, and then get some household essentials at the local co-op. Keighley gala on so not good idea to go to sainsburys.

Ok, this is my first week menu planning. I have based the week on what we have in the freezer. Trying to make some space to let me start batch cooking in a couple of weeks!

Sat: Quiche, salad and bread rolls
Sun: Sunday lunch at the MILs so just toasted muffins for tea/supper!
    Mon: Fishfingers, chips and veg
Tue: Sausages, mash, yorkshire pud, veg, gravy
Wed: Cajun dusted fish, rice, salad
Thur: Chilli con carne, rice and creme fraiche
Fri: Pasta with Spinach, creme fraiche, pine nuts and parmesan.

Already has the makings of most of this. Mainly veg and salad on my list for Mr Ts!

Making some brownies later for snacks and HM sausage rolls to take for lunches.

Sourced a nice red wine at Tesco which is only £2.39 a bottle, Marques de Leon, which should help me meet my target ....

We like that too! La Torla Rioja is nice too from Tesco, but a little more pricey at £2.99 a bottle. I tend to alternate between the 2 ;). Would be nice to find a good cheap Sauvignon Blanc.

:hello: Winnepooh...The more the merrier! Your menu plan sounds luvly (jealous because I don't have any cabbage to go with my pie tonight) :)
