Anyone with Experience of Betterware?

Options
I am thinking of becoming a Betterware distributor. I have been told by Betterware that I will earn 20% of any sales and there is no outlay.

However, someone told me that I should exercise some caution with this, and be certain that there is definitely not an outlay to be paid.

So I would be grateful if you would share your experiences of dealing with Betterware.

Thank you.

I work for Kleeneze which is similar in some way's to Bettaware, I can assure you that Bettaware is a legitimate company. It is correct that there is no outlay of money, they give you the books for free and a territory to work.

It is however utter rubbish to warn you about paying any money upfront though. People who say this are people with a Job mentality and they would be correct not to pay upfront for a job. However if you want to be self employed it is usual to have some costs.

It is true some companies take advantage of this fact and persuade people to part with money and offer very little or nothing in return and this put's some people off the genuine opportunities.
If you can imagine someone trying to get a Franchise and being told to avoid those that make you pay up front, it is ridiculous as there is not one on earth that doesn't both charge an upfront fee and then an ongoing percentage. It certainly doesn't mean they should be avoided, the question is, what are you getting for your money?

However all this is academic as Bettaware are one of the very few that don't actually charge anything.

    Hope that helps

  • Hi Skeeter,

Are you still looking at joining Betterware.

I started up with them about 8 weeks ago. There is no inital outlay. The only thing they do charge for (but it is optional) are the bags to put books in. I think it's £5 for 500 bags. However to be honest during the summer months these aren't really needed and in fact I quite often get bags free when I get more books.

You do earn 20% commision on every order placed and they also run a bonus scheme (although TBH this is primarily aimed at full timers). I probably average £15-£20 a week but then I only go out once or twice a week and for me its just a little bit of pocket money whilst getting out and walking around.

If you are still interested PM and I'll sned you through the details.

    I did this years ago.
Betterware give you an exclusive round while kleeneeze seem not to care if someone else is already working the street you were planning on selling to.
I did it for 6 months(2 rounds) to help pay off a debt we had at the time but gave it up immediately after as hubby was not really willing to look after the kids while I did it and taking them with you can seriously slow things down. If you are dilligent about going back for the books, you can build up quite a lot of work and there isn't any outlay unless you really want to buy the book bags and spare books.
When you are collecting payment and delivering the goods, remember to have some change already in your pocket.

Your correct Kleeneze don't limit you to a particular territory, this has both advantages and disadvantages but by far the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
