HI I have accumulated £300 worth of points throughout the year and want to purchase a couple of bikes for my children for christmas from the catalogue. Unfortunatly I am not allowed to do this I have been told at the till. Is there any way around this. I was going to purchase an item about £250 take it back with the receipt and say I did not have my card to put points on and then hopefully they could put the points on a gift card and then I could purchase the bikes. Dishonest which I don't like to do but I have saved up these points and I want to purchase the bikes. What advice can I get from you guys?? Do you think I should do this??

Hi, I agree its extremley unfair. Have you rang Boots Direct and Boots.com. One is a catalogue and the other one is available only online.
I had £89 worth of points and wanted a pushcahir which was only available on Boots.com. Was really annoyed that I couldnt use the points to purchase. I spoke to the store manager of my local store and he agreed if I pay with my debit card and brought it in he would reimburse my debit card and take the points towards it (was a really nice guy!).
With regards to getting a refund onto a gift card, boots have changed their policy. They wont refund without a receipt not even onto a gift card. Even if they were to make a exception I doubt it would be for £250.

strictly speaking proof of purchase could include a bank statement or even a witness it doesn't necessary have to be their receipt - so if you kick up enough of a fuss and had someone with you saying you bought it with them then you could pressure them into it.0

If I had the receipt though but said I did not have the advantage card on me could they then refund the amount onto a gift card and then I could purchase the bikes with that?? Any advice appreciated0
