Molly, if it's not too late you could try asking for a payment holiday of three months. Some mortgage lenders do allow this if you explain that you're in straitened circumstances and need time to sort yourselves out. This might give you enough breathing space to find at least the deposit and one month's rent, depending on how the cost of rental compares to the cost of your mortgage. All the best, Lily
