They will get in touch you then send a copy of the letter to the DMP peeps ( cccs etc) and also a copy of your budget as supplied by CCCS etc to the new credit owners. I did this with mine and by the next statement I noticed payments were going to the new credit owner, not that anybody told me! The amount stayed the same as it was with the original debt owner.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

Im in the same situation also they sent to me that they have sold the debt but I never received a Default Notice. You will find also that if you check your credit report they have issued default there. I am in the process of writing to CRA to dispute the default entered by MBNA.

Why not now write to new company and request a copy of the CCA ? Surprising how many can not supply one .

I do find it interesting how different people have different problems with creditors.

MBNA are my biggest creditor. I owe them about 9k and I started my DMP at the beginning of the year, I've not heard from them since and in fact, they were my first creditor to freeze interest. They been great compared to my other creditors.

Sorry, this is probably not what you want to hear.

I was the opposite mate - they were for me the first to harass me (very badly), threaten me with bailiffs and visits and first to take me to court. It beggars the question - is the timing of your debt good or bad?

As for the OP's questions - I would say it would be better off sold on in my experience, but I am new to these matters so take my comment as nothing more than my experience.

Not sure what you mean about the timing of my debt. Before I started my DMP I spoke to them and told them of my problems and gave them token payments until I had sorted my DMP. Not actually heard from them since December! Maybe I have it all to come.

Sometimes it is better for it to go to a DCA as they often freeze interest and charges. I'm waiting for a couple of my debts to be passed to DCAs so that I can negotiate as at the moment the creditor (not MBNA) are lumping on massive charges and refusing to accept my DMP.

Ok, well my difficulties were at the end of last year so I guess it was a bit before the credit crunch. However, they must be affected by it now and I've still not heard from them. My smaller creditors - some of them I owe less than a grand to - are threatening court action and all sorts but nowt from MBNA. When I first rang MBNA in Nov/Dec last year, the girl I spoke to recommended I contact CCCS or Payplan for a DMP and then they would more likely freeze interest. I contacted CCCS and MBNA true to their word, immediately accepted the DMP and froze interest.

Pity Hellifax and Barclaycrud don't have the same attitude.
