Hi Im getting married in July next year and I hadnt thought about the church flowers until I got a price list from the florist yesterday! They are soooo expensive! Checked out silk ones too and so are they! What is the absolute minimum flowers you can get away with in the church? And is it cheaper if you get the church to do it for you?
Thanks

speak to the ladies who do the flower rota at the church, sometimes they will let you use their arrangments (for a donation), although this may mean you have no say in the colours/styles.

i am getting married in july this year and we are decorating the church ourselves
my mum is doing most of the flower arrangements and i am making very slowly bows to put on the pew ends
you don't need masses of flowers - use ribbons, candles, pot plants0 -
We're not putting any flowers in the church. I attend my church every sunday and there's rarely fresh flowers on display... It's usually some kind of wall hanging or other decoration etc... We decided we didn't want to fill the church with flowers and make it look different to normal. We're either going to make our own wall hangings or just use whatever decoration is hanging up the week we get married. (Depends on the theme of the sermons, but there is a chance it could be autumn decorations!)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

hi,
I'm not sure if our church is charging the usual going rate prices, but our prices from the ladies that decorate the church (in summer) are:-
Pedestal £50,
pew end £10 (each)
ivy pedestal with candle £10
screen swag £50.
the prices in winter go up about £5 per item. As the church is very long,I don't think you could spend less than £100 for the pew ends, and even then there would be one pew end every 6 or so rows.

Why not decorate every other pew end with a single white rose tied with a satin ribbon this looks good and only takes a few moments anyone with an eye for flowers could do it for you earlier in the morning as long as the rose has a phile of water on the bottom these can be removed by the ushers as the first guests arrive. Look in the supermarkets you can get top grade roses for around £1 a stem this also looks good with lilies although the pollen needs to be removed. Have a lovely dayRemember every waking moment is a chance to turn it all around.;) Knowledge is the key to respect.
