Well I would play them all off against each other! Arrange for a "tour" and then make sure you let them know where else you are looking and the type of price band you are looking for. I did this with David Lloyd and it was amazing how quickley the price came down and a bit more patience saw all kinds of offers coming through the post within days!

I am in total fitness in warrington and i played all of them against each other and they were the cheapest. and for what i wanted it was the best one.

you get discounts if you "trade" your old membership in as well.

out of interest, david lloyd were significantly dearer than the rest, but they have just updates all of there gym equipment (warrington) so its all spanking new.

We tried to play David Lloyd off against Total Fitness but they don't seem to budge on price. For a family of 4 to join, David Lloyd have quoted us £140 per month and Total Fitness have qouted us £94 per month. Any ideas how to get a better deal?
