Standard letter to dca??

Hiya

Well after speking to CCCS & then capital one I've found out whose got the debt now. I don't want to get their back up by not responding (although have paid c1 payment for this month) so going to send off the standard letter. The company is Fredrick International. I want to communicate with them in writing only so is it ok to put that in this letter or is there a more official one to send which means they won't be allowed to ring me anymore?

I can also only offer token payments, anyone have any experience offering a dca this amount and it being accepted? Last thing i want is someone turning up at my door or trying to take me to court but thankfully cccs were really helpful with my numerous questions (as always, they are absolute:A ) and i feel more confident about whats happening. I have to say the information on this site has been invaluable, I have found out so much useful information and I definately would have found this whole process a lot lot tougher to deal with without all the help provided here.

Ooh couple more things, is it wise to send cheques to dca for payments as I have been doing up until now with the original creditors? And also do they freeze interest/ charges etc or do you have to beg them to do it!?

Thanks for reading!

What's the debt for? Could you ask for a cca? I've done that to FI and they couldn't respond, as soon as I can afford ink for my printer I'll be sending them the last letter.

FWIW, I sent them a couple of cheques before I found all the advice about CCA's, and they haven't copied the signature, or forged a DD mandate or anything, but if you can afford POs that's probably best.

Forgot to say about token payments, I've never had a problem with any DCA accepting them, but I'm on income support so they don't have much choice. FI were fine about it.

  • Thanks for your reply, sounds hopeful with the payments as there is no scope for any more within the income/expenditure at the moment!

With regard to the cca, i had thought about it after reading stuff on here. Its a cc unsecured debt from Capital one and only got referred on 17th June. I haven't had any contact with dca yet but seeing as its only just gone across to them is it too soon? If I managed to get the token payment agreed & set up with them would i be able to do it then? Hmmmm I don't know whats best
