Shipping Overseas !!! Read On.....

Dear Moneysavers,
Still new to this moneysaving lark...and not at all sure if this is the correct area to post this tip......
A few weeks ago my family and I learnt that we could save ourselves a small fortune in postage when sending parcels overseas to..... OZ at least.
I've got loads of family in Sydney, and for years we have been sending things over throughout the year.... both ways ......
Found out that although you ask for, and pay for the 'shipping' method at the Post Office.... things are actually going out AIR MAIL anyway !!!
The shipping method is approx half the price of the AIRMAIL method....
Parcels have to be kept below a 2 kilo weight (read Post Office guidelines).
I've received one parcel from OZ in 6 days !!
I sent one from Manchester which got there in an incredible 4 days !!!
(Posted near the Trafford Centre on a Friday afternoon..... parcel arrived the following Wednesday at 9am !!! )
I sent one from London.... On a Wednesday lunchtime....arrived the following Wednesday again..... !!!
My family tried it out 'the reverse route' .... and they too asked for shipping and got AIRMAIL....!!!
WE ALL THINK IT'S GREAT :T :T ..... only wish I'd know about it ages ago.
Not at all sure if this would apply to parcels to USA and Canada...
Got family there too....
I would suggest that your first parcel you try to send out is not that
'important' on time schedule.... just in case it does not work for you...
