Having the courage to ask for more money - thank you Martin!

Without Martin's help I wouldn't have had the guts to actually pester my boss (also called Martin ) for a pay rise.
What I actually got was the possibility of a "new" job - which was basically my old job at a higher salary, on a permanent basis - but they would have to recruit for it and I would have to interview.

So I took a massive risk there, I think... and said "Yes. Go ahead and advertise my job.
What do I have to lose?" (Errr, my temporary contract!)
It took OVER A YEAR and a lot more pestering to negotiate the new salary scale and place the advert for the permanent job. I applied at the end of May and on Tuesday I had the interview, along with two other candidates - one of whom was very good - but I got the job! I will now earn about 15% more than I was previously earning.
:T :T :T
I'm really pleased. There are a few people in my office who are on too low a salary but they don't say anything about it, for whatever reason. I would probably have been one of them without Martin's advice. And by that I mean Martin Lewis, not my boss!
Thank you Martin for giving me the courage to speak up!
