I sent for this on Saturday and got an email today saying that they were not aware that they were currently offering free samples!0

yep, i got that email too, have sent them the link back to them. will let you know if i get a reply.0

Looking at the link, where is the free sample offered?

I see the link to 'sample page', but that offers various sample packs priced from £2.50 plus VAT and delivery.
Specifically it states:We don't give away free dvd-r samples as in the past unfortunately this was abused on a number of occasions, but we are extremely competitive..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
There was one free, then suddenly it disappeared! I guess too many people were requesting samples!0

I think this is one of the problems with the popularity of freebie boards. Companies sometimes just don't realise how many people are out there looking for something for nothing ;-)
Sometimes people *do* get greedy and abuse sample request systems, sometimes people just ask for anything that's free (whether they need it or not), but ultimately will freebie boards become a victim of their own success? I hope not!0 -
Maybe they did once give away a free dvd-r, at least that's what they imply, but not within the last 12 months they haven't

Doubt it. They'll see the referral and this very chat which is just people wanting a free dvd-r and not interested in buying
 (think it's a company/large order type sample orginally) 0
