Not exactly free but close.

Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes is giving away a jute shopping bag in exchange for 20 plastic carriers, just go to the information desk in the centre to exchange.

    These bags are really good.

    Two restrictions I noticed when I was in getting mine - they have an allocation of 120 a day to give out, and there is a limit of 5 per customer.

    Offer runs until the middle of August
