Sorry if wrong board but need some advice.
Few months ago a couple with kids moved across the path from us ( we live on a green). And ever since we have had letters for a girl, and ive heard of her name before. And we think it is them.
Anyway in around 2 months we have had 3 letters for bills for a travel buss pass. The girl does NOT live here, and we have called them up already 3 times to tell them .... called them up not long ago, said i will get a call back. The account is over due and if they do not get payment of 60 pounds in 7 days they will start legal action. When we last rang up we were told we would not recieve any letters!
Im in the right mind to go accross and knock on this couples house:mad: but im not going to.
Anything i can do please? thanks xxx

Have you checked that it IS the girl across the road and/or given her the letters? If not, she may have legal action sprung upon her because she hasn't been getting the post!
Other than that, a quick letter enclosing the the items that aren't yours, or 'not at this address' in large red capitals might work...A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
CHALLENGES
2025 Declutter:
1 CONTAINER (box/bag/folder etc) per day; 50/365
1 FROG (minimum) per week; 6/52
WEIGHT I'll start with 25 lbs (though I need to lose more!) and see how it goes...🤔 0/25
2025 NSDs: 15 per MONTH - FEB 4/15; JAN 21/15
2025 Fashion on the Ration: (carried over from 2024) 10+66 = 76
2025 Make Do, Mend & Minimise No target, just remember to report!

I would send a letter to the company explaining that this person is not at your address and has never lived there etc. Also explain you have called them on numerous occasions and they have said they will sort it etc.
Its better to have it in writing.
I dont think you can blame the girl over the road, especially as you are not sure it is even her. Maybe go over there, explain you have had some post and wondered if it was hers and take her name. If it is her hand her the post.
I wouldnt at first tell her it was debt letters, i would just say "post".
If you are 100% sure it is her (and she tells you her name) then in the letter you write to the company giver her correct address. but ONLY do this if you are 100% sure it is her.

I would take Amy's first bit of advice and write (don't phone) to say this person doesn't live at your address and hasn't lived there for x years.
Return any letters addressed to this girl at the same time.
I wouldn't go to see the girl, it may backfire on you.
Assuming it is her, what if she wants to know why you didn't say anything to her 2 months ago when you first starting receiving the letters?
It could turn nasty, especially with legal action pending. The account is over due and if they do not get payment of 60 pounds in 7 days they will start legal action.
I think that might be a legal non-no and is one very good reason not to speak to this girl.
If we ever get any letters to our address, we always mark them 'Does not live here and never has' and pop them back in the postbox - our house was brand new when we moved in.0
