What To Do Now?

Hi i have done as advised and written to Moorcroft Debt recoveries requesting CCA. This i posted on 24th, recorded delivery, and on checking see they have received it on 25th, however a few minutes ago i have received a letter off them which was dated 24th (so posted same day as mine) NOTICE OF INTENDED LITIGATION and a letter asking me to ring them or pay full balance immediately to prevent legal action. Now i know that folk on here have said NOT to ring them but if I dont they are going to continue action. Will my letter that they would have received a day after they sent this put account/action on hold now? Loathe to ring these people anyway as they have left voice messages saying"Hi xxx (first name only) can you ring deb/ryan/floss on ,,,,, how deceitful is that NOT to actually say the company you are calling from and being really chipper so they can catch you when you DO ring? and PLEASE dont post to tell me to just pay my debts and I wont have this prob as I am trying VERY hard and am in a right pickle lately.
thanks in advance

Firstly no-one is going to tell you to "just pay your debts off" we are all in the same boat here (pretty much)

I honestly wouldnt phone them. It sounds like a standard letter that is threatening to try and scare you into paying the amount right now in full.

I would wait the standard time that you stated in your letter. If you do not receive a response then you need to send a 2nd letter but im sure someone like Stapley can help you (the star of the CCA request :D)

    I hope this helps.

    :rotfl: @ the swear word.

They definitely are that! DCAs are mean and cruel most of the time. And generally not very pleasant.

Glad you found some helpful advice on other threads. I would just sit tight and wait the allotted amount of time you stated in your letter that they have to get in contact with you.

Fingers crossed you manage to sort out the remortgage etc. x

And sorry you found some other posts a bit judgemental.

I would do that Cookie, Don't worry. If they turn up on your doorstep then don't open the door. Ask them to talk through the letterbox. And as for anyone who is judgemental about us having debts, well they can go and stew their heads. It must be lovely to have such a perfect life, eh?

That is exactly what they want you to think. Don't phone them. If it would put your mind at rest to contact them then don't Moorcroft have a website you can contact them through? I think it's them.. you could send them a message just saying that with reference to their letter of 24th, you have contacted them with a CCA request and are awaiting their response. I would also request that they stop phoning you... although I did that and they still leave messages, but thankfully they have my old mobile number (which I keep as a spare) so I just let them get on with it, they can spend their money on pointless phonecalls if they want.... :D
