When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today i will:
Andan - good for you for finaly giving in your notice, you will feel so much better.
Cleosmum - Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment, sending you some (((((hugs))))).
Piglet - about the job, must have been a real shock for you. I think I would work to rule too ,otherwise they will end up getting full time hours from you for part time pay:mad: . No use wasting emotional energy on it though as you say the only person it is hurting is yourself. ((((((hugs ))))))):A
Eternal Optimist - please carry on posting , even the small stuff counts and I love your upbeat posts:D

Have a good day everyone, got to run.

I don't normally post on here but need a bit of a kick up the bum to get organised....
Walked youngest daughter to school, walked back along the cliffs/woods and picked elderflowers for making elderflower champagne this afternoon.
Online banking to tally up accounts.
Make a batch of fruity buns to use up some soaked rasins from yesterdays wine experiment. Store cupboard dinner and lunch.
NSD as I don't have any cash in the house apart from the coppers jar which is nearly full.
2 items to list on ebay, trying to list 2 items a day for a month.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I have or will
- OH working away, me and DS going with him for a couple of nights, 2 nights away on expenses, will be a bit stressful, travelling with a 1 year old this evening and coming back early sat morning to be at a wedding on sat afternoon, but I get 2 nights in nice hotel edinburgh with meals, for free. While partner is working tomorrow, I am going to take boy swimming and for a walk, photograph the castles etc, so freebies.
- going to use some food from our fridge up (and take some with us for journey) lots of fruits to be used up before they go off
- got my sunscription to moneywise, £1 for 3 issues, then cancel DD
- joining the union at work, avoided this for 5 years, but its only £8 a month, we are moving sites soon and I think there could be lots of upheaval. I am also registered disabled and might need some advise at some point if my condition worsens.
- will do some washing on quickwash, but dont know where I am going to dry it?0 -
Pooky- Elderflower Champagne sounds delicious....
I've been absent from here for a few days as have been working away which has cost me a fortune- can claim most of it back on expenses but the incidentals still add up....so today I will-
~Have a NSD- will be the first for ages but I don't need anything
~Get OH to post some eBay parcels (don't count this as a spend as the buyers have paid for postage) and I managed to smash my £100 target for June- yay!!
~Check Quidco- I have £125 validated for April but don't think it will be paid this month as not yet received.
~Checked online banking- paid eBay money off my cc and paid OH's in full :-)
Think that's it for today as off to work in a minute. Have a great Thursday everyone.
