I wanna pair of headphones for laptop..

As an avid gamer who needs to buy headphones (by order of she who must be obeyed!), I need to buy a pair of headphones.
I would like a set that plug into my headphone socket on the laptop as my cordless set, interfere with the baby alarm!
I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't want cheap tat either. I'd prefer trhe large style that cover your ears rather than the in-ear type. No one can see me so it's not so much of a fashion faux-paus!!!
TVM in advance.

I went for the Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro which are now priced around about £75 - £100

These really are great headphones for both gaming and music. They come with the standard small headphone jack and a large headphone adaptor that screws on.
Obviously you can get much cheaper headphones just look in Argos etc.
Do you need something with a built in microphone for voice comms? I use a seperate USB mic but you can get a number of gaming headsets with mic built in.
An assorted list of gaming headsets can be found here:

I've got a built-in mic on my laptop mate. I'll have a look at the gaming link when I get a chance though as it may be better than the laptop mic!

Hi,
I bought a pair of Sennheiser PX100 (try here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PX-100-PX100-Headphones/dp/B00009QH7P) £18, and they are top notch, the best sound quality I've heard from headphones in a long long time. And the price is spot on too! Added bonus, they fold away into a solid protective case which is a joy when travelling.
I use them all the time when travelling on business.
Another option may be the Sennheiser PXC 150, 250 or 300 which are noise-reducing headphones. Prices range from £39-£89 but come in a stiff fabric case as opposed to solid plastic. (No, I don't work for Sennheiser, I just love their headphones!)
Hope the advise helps! Let us know what you buy!
