Help out at a Credit Union would i be allowed

Options
Just sorting my forms with CAB for BR Aug/Sept Crewe court is so busy till then.

I help at my local Credit union 3 hours a week, just putting leaflet packs together and giving them out. Don't mess with the money side. (Helping there helps with my panic attacks and makes me get out of house).

Anyone know if I would be able to do this would the OR say I can't....

    Hi,

Cant really see what this has to do with the O/R any issues would be between you and the Credit Union involved I suppose (not that Im suggesting you tell them) in any case bankruptcy is there to give you a fresh start not hinder your life.

Its great that you are prepared to help others and Credit Unions are a good thing as far as I am concerned.

    Good on you.

They are more than happy for me to continue volunteering. They know how I've struggled with my debts are supporting me. They thought i should have done this last year and not struggled on.

I wondered as arn't there limits as to being involved while BR.

    Hi,

To be honest its the first time I have been asked this question, but I cant see why the O/R would be interested in any way, after all many people who are bankrupt are employed and work with money in some way or another.

I will try to find out for sure for you tommorrow if I have time but in all honesty I would be really surprised if it would be an issue.

You could try the Official Receivers helpline on 02072916895 as they may be to answer this, you dont have to give your name or details.

    Hi GMO,

Are you a volunteer or in an employed position??

Either way its not down to the OR it will depend on the Credit Union,if thy value your help I can't see a problem. If it is there are plenty of charities that would gladly take you on.It can be so rewarding just giving some of your time whethr it be sorting out the bags left from the weekend to stocking the shelves and racks it all helps.

    So Don't despair

    That's great!!

Yes I am a volunteer, tbh it's helping me with my panic attacks. By getting me out and meeting people, as we use a small room I can cope. So I guess you could say they are helping me too.

Manager is happy for me to help and will continue to support me.

    Hi again GMO,

The OR will not be interested one iota.
You give your time free of charge for nothing more than peace of mind.
I applaud you,you have got off your @rse and made a difference I also thank the CU who obviously want to help you.
I only wish there were more people around like you that are'nt in it just for themselves.
