Right I've got to cut down on the luxuries again

Since I got a lodger. All the little luxuries (mostly coffee bar coffees and snacks) and bought lunches have crept back into my expenditure. Slapped wrists all round.

I have now admitted defeat and at least for the time being admitted that I can't live with someone else without going nuts (it didn't help that the person wasn't very nice and I was 100% stressed all the time). I'm by myself again (yippee) but I must stop my frivolous spending.

What free things can I do to give myself at treat at work? We don't have a coffee maker in the office because we all go to the coffee shop and I think I would hate instant coffee (I'm a newbie to drinking coffee at all, I've for years been a tea drinker, but a friend recently got me hooked). Perhaps I could persuade everyone to contribute to our own coffee maker. I need to start eating homemade lunches again. Trouble is I've got really lazy about eating full stop and if your evening meal is cheese on crackers that's not much by way of leftovers for lunch. Tomorrow I am starting my proper no unnecessaries budget again.

Wish me luck :)

I think getting a coffee maker is a great idea, they can be really cheap, I got mine a couple of years ago for less than a tenner. Or you can get 'posh' instant coffee, like douwe egberts, which is gorgeous and still cheaper than coffee shop ones. Nescafe do latte instant ones that are quite nice. Instant's come a long way lately! If you want the real coffee shop experience you can get the syrups, I got a starbucks one for less than one of the coffees and it's lasted ages.

I know what you mean though, I'm a cafe nero addict myself when I've got any spare cash!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Thanks :)

I will work my persuasive charms on my colleagues. Although if I got a machine for a tenner I probably wouldn't even need to persuade them just bask in the glory of having provided the wonderful machine.
