In Debt & needing some support

Hi,
I have been loitering on the forum for a while now but have never posted.
I am in debt to the tune of £11,039.78  which consists of three credit cards and a couple of catalogue accounts.
I'm not really sure where this mess all started but to cut a long story short. I split from my fiance about 10 months ago (we were together 5 years). We bought a house together and neither of us were very good at budgeting at the time and it all spiralled out of control.
After separating I met someone new and we've been together about six months. (Hes lovely by the way:) )
A few weeks ago he sat me down and said he'd noticed I seemed to be hiding something from him and after a lot of tears I told him about the debts.
He has paid my cards off for me and i'm paying a back around £600.00 a month. I'm going to continue making the payments on my catalogues.
Thats all due to start next month.
So the reason I am here is that I am determined to get it all paid off and never make the same mistake again. I think having a kind of 'support group' is really going to help. You all seem like such nice people and i'd really like for a few people to hold my hand along the way.

Hi,
What a nice man, I'm pleased that you have the support at home and you will find loads from the lovely people on here. The good way to look at it is the rate at which you're paying it back you should be debt-free in two years. Good luck to you both.0
