Up to July 07 I was unemployed and so had my rent and council tax paid, then I returned to work and had my wages topped up with WTC,
at this point the CSA kicked in and I was having there money taken at source from my wages.
I couldnt manage as I was diagnosed with acute depression and have fallen behind with every bill I owe, and in my job no work equates no pay.
Yesterday I received 2 Liability Orders through the door from Bristow & Sutor for 07/08 c tax and 08/09 c tax informing me that I had to pay in full or else.
I rang them to try and arrange a payment schedule but was told that I had to wait for the Bailiff to call with some paperwork and let him in and he would discuss any proposals.This means more fees will be added,and from the info available if I let him in that means walking possession and levying distress etc.
The point being is that I really dont have any spare money left,Ive just had my WTC assessment back they have overpaid me and now my WTC is 50% less as from next week.
I earn too much to get any help with Rent/ Ctax as CSA contributions are not taken into account for H/Ben/C/Tax Ben.
I cant afford to save up and go Bankrupt as I have £3 a week left to go towards my debts at the moment and now my WTC has been reduced from July 3rd
Im in a right mess.
I owe everywhere/everything the letterbox rattles and I panic the phone would ring if it hadnt been cut off,Im frightened to turn the TV on incase I get caught the licence ran out last week. I keep watching through the curtains incase a Bailiff is hiding and waiting for me to open a door or window,, stupid I know but Im working myself into a right state re my situation.
What does one do in situations like these???
I dont like confrontation due to my depression I avoid bad situations but I need to or else its only going to get worse.
I could have sick leave as the doctor said I needed a break but then the bills would just increase,the council told me I couldnt afford my tenancy, fine bloody help info that was, so where am I supposed to live?if I give up my council flat, private rents are horrendous, laughable thing is they would pay me to live in a private rented place costing 3 times as much as this flat, is it me or is the world going mad daft bonkers????

am only joking about robbing a bank honest!!!! council just told me if i rent privatley at £400 per/month Id get most of it paid on HBen thingey????am I missing something here??
I love my flat..its cheap to rent and large, just in a mess because of my inablity to cope with my debt,, so if I upgrade they will pay more, jeez I think Im going mental....the council was most unhelpful and I am losing the plot here, how come Im worse off trying to keep working, than if I sat on my bum all day, if I could turn the clock back to when I wasnt depressed and could cope Id do it all so differently, but I have to be realistic and realise I need to sort out my debts ok so this is Day 1 and already feel like giving up, have you ever felt like its just too much sometimes??

How about popping up a SOA, to see if any folks have some other suggestions?

As BOB says pop up your statement of affairs(link in the stickies on the front page of this board.) and let the good folk have a look and see if they can help with cutting back or maximising your income.

Also ring one of the debt charities (links and numbers in my signature.) and have a chat about your options.

Check out https://www.entitledto.com to make sure you are getting everything you are entitled to.

Also do NOT under any circumstances let a baliffe into your house please. I can't reiterate it enough DO NOT LET A BALIFFE INTO YOUR HOUSE.
