Spot on, Scarlett. Suburb to the great metropolis where all rent, food etc seems priced towards the pockets of emigres and oligarchs!0

Lilybart - I'm assuming you're down south somewhere with those figures?
Our rent is £620 and pretty average for the area. However, we could have found somewhere around the region of £500 (slightly worse area, smaller garden, no downstairs loo etc....) but the OR didn't even question it at all.
Really, as long as you're not taking the pee, then your rental costs are what they are and the OR will have no issue with this
:rotfl:
What am I supposed to do with the pony then

Thank you all.
I think we should be ok then. The rental will be done with a proper tenancy agreement and pricewise, it's not unrealistic for our needs.
Just need to find this relative somewhere to live now but might have sorted that this morning

Just to compare ... I rent a fairly small 1 bedroomed flat for £625 on my own, could quite easily have been upto £700 for something just a little bit better .. so £725 doesn't sound that unreasonable at all.
Also if your in there before BR then the OR has to appreciate the additional costs involved with moving again so really can't see there being any issues
:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -

Oh damn. And here was me hoping!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Really don't worry, even my total and utter git of an OR allowed our rent of £1400/month - whilst we do live in London, strictly speaking we could get a property for about £600 a month if it were a studio, but we would have to pay elec gas & water as well on top of that (the £1400 includes bills like that) as well as far more Council Tax, so it would probably be quite high - and we need to live in the property we do for OH's business so we can't move to a 'normal' house.
I was worried about it, and loads of people commmented they didn't think the OR would allow it, but he did - he just checked with our Landlord that was how much we paid (we don't have a written contract anymore) and that was that. So no worries on a piddling £50 more than you were paying before (and rents have gone up don't forget at the moment).
Good luck

Living down South, our rent is £1200 pcm and that is for a 3 bedroom for a family of 6. Hopefully the OR will realise that it's quite a modest house and there will be no problems.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
