Hi Rusty and welcome to the board
With CCCS you can do a bit of the process online, it is on their website and called debtremedy, it helps you see what your options might be. CCCS are well throught of in the main and Martin allows them to post on this site (you can identify them because they have a username that starts with CCCS_)
Here is a link to other free debt advice agencies:

its a phone call initially, this was my LBM... i actually confessed to oh how bad our debt was while walking around George at asda:eek:...digressed a bit...
ok a phone call initially, they will arrange a appointment to call you back (bout 10-14days) when they will go through all your finances. so you need your most recent banck statement and bills. also payslips for you / and partner and any extra income you may get ie tax credits, benefits etc
they will work out what you owe and what you take home ie wages, then work out what you can afford to pay back. ( i was quite surpised with this cos even tho there are just the 2 of use we are budgeted to spend £218 a month on food and cleaning stuff)
then they will send you a pack, they work out how much you will pay every creditor a month, you pay cccs and they pay the creditors then!
easy peasy
thier web is https://www.cccs.co.uk
there is a lot more info there
ask me any qs you have tho'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

I didn't find them helpful but loads of people on here have, I think I'm definitely in the minority! But my circumstances are a bit unusual.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

must admit they were helpful when i was in debt but to be honest they did say go bankrupt as you do not own your home and liv in a sitting tennant property also my car was 8 years old so it wouldnt affect me that much.
not the option i chose.0 -
Thankyou for the replies, I have emailed a link to the site to someone I think it could help, its in their hands now. I doubt bankruptcy would be an option as he owns his own house (well paying morgage)Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
