Are you always this rude or is it just when hiding behind a keyboard?

He/she seems to have a history of this type of argumentative/aggressive post !
  • Seems to me like a clear case of fraud, they agreed a price then the company took 25% more.

ahhh yes apologies... totally agree in terms of getting the difference back for the amount which was agreed, had overlooked in my reply..

Although in terms of the rest i still think its just one of those things. They offered a service which was accepted. These companies are very clever, they didnt promise a sale..

OP - Have you had any joy getting any $$$ back??

OP, I would contact the bank and advise them that the company took £100 instead of the £80 that they agreed. Speak to ConsumerDirect as others have suggested about the advert. I would also suggest that you speak to Trading Standards about the company because it looks as though it is using sharp practice to obtain your details and show your ex directory number leaving you open to all sorts of unwanted calls.

Good luck and I hope you manage to get this sorted soon. As for trolls just ignore them, they are often ignorant and just want to inflame situations. If it gets too abusive just click on the red triangle at the bottom left of their posting and you can then send an abuse report email to the board administrators.
  • Thanks all, I appreciate you taking the time to advise me.

I did try to send a reply earlier, but my computer crashed on me. Probably a good job as I put a response to 'ooooohhhhh's comments. I realise now that a reaction is what he\she wants. Sad.

Anyway, I still have not had a reply back from the bank. I have asked most of the questions posed via phone call and e-mail to the company, but not had a response.

I will try tomorrow with Consumer Direct, will let you know how it goes.

I have had to turn to Consumer Direct previously, they are very easy to talk to and offer good advice. At the very least they will keep a record of your complaint about this company and if in future they are contacted by somebody else they will be able to build a case against them.

    :D

  • I have been on the phone to Consumer Direct today, who advised to give them one more chance by writing to them again and sending the letter by recorded delivery.

I alos spoke to the Information Commissioners office who said they are in breach of the Data Protection Act by publishing my telephone number for a service which was not discussed.

Will wait and see what happens......
