Glutton for punishment!!!

As the title says, I am most definately a glutton for punishment. I applied for a job a second ago, helping out at an estate agents down the road from me on a Saturday, and they called me, so i have an "interview" tomorrow.

It pays £60 a day (after tax & paid weekly!!), so this will help with my savings big time, means I can continue saving £900 or hopefully a £1000 a month towards my travels. Whoo!!

Ok, so its not ideal & im quite happy having the weekends to myself, but its only for the short term. If i save like this I could go next October (ok, so not that short term), but I can grin and bear it.

It does interfere with my gym class on a Saturday morning, but never mind. Shall let you know how I get on.

This will probably be one of my last posts & I certainly dont want anyone to think "im rubbing it in", I'll stay around here to advise people, but I'll have to find somewhere else to talk "travels" with.

Hope you're all having a good friday.

  • Hi MsLondon. Good luck with the second job! I would say that I really do not think that you should stop posting at all.

I always read your posts on both here and the Fool and it is always pleasing to see the progress of someone who is working hard and finally slaying that old demon they called debt. Also for a first timer there is no better motivation than to see the words and also gain the advice of someone who has been in the same position and show that it can be done!

Just my two pence worth :)

    Take care

Wow Ms London - I wish I had your focussed attitude! I've been looking into getting a second job for a while now. I do overtime at work whenever I can, it usually works out a night a week during the Autumn & Winter which helps, but it does leave me tired. I think I might have a look around where I live, see if there are any weekend jobs going....

Well done well done! Gloat all you like, you have done so well! And what an inspiration to see that, once the debts are paid off, you are now applying all your money saving tips to pay for a fantastic treat. Can't wait for my time to come too!
