Hi everyone,

I don't know which board this query should be on. This query is regarding a payment protection policy from Ocean Finance  .

The story is complicated, years ago my mother was admitted into hospital witha psychiatric illness. When she was discharged her partner of 5 years (no assets and with big credit card debts) persuaded her to take out a loan with Ocean Finance to improve their kitchen. She took out a secured loan on her unmortgaged house, she was 71 at the time. The loan was organised by Ocean Finance and funded by GE Money (then called First National). A payment protection policy was taken out insuring my mother's partner only in the case of unemployment and sickness. After a year another loan was taken out to pay her partners credit cards and then a final loan when he planned to leave her.
When he left the case went to the ombudsman but she lost. She paid all the insurances back to Ocean Finance (6000 pounds just for the last loan). I am now being passed arund insurance companies and Ocean Finance. I have just spoken to them on the phone and they say they can't see what the problem is!!

Surely she should not have repaid insurance that doesn't benefit her at the age of 78 and in someone else's name??

Ocean Finance have been totally unhelpful, should I reclaim for her??
Where do I go for help??

This whole situation is a nightmare and we  are devastated.
Can a mod switch this to a different board if necessary?

Thanks everyone I am desparate!!
