The housing cycle, magnolia walls and laminate flooring

Would anyone like to hazzard a guess to when having your entire house painted magnolia, having laminate flooring and decking laid in the garden will be out of vogue.
I personally cant stand it and will not be buying such a property as it will cost me a fortune to replace with bright vibrante colours and a touch of individuality.
Also nearly broke my neck this week sliding on a rug with laminate flooring underneath.

No! Good quality wood looks nice but laminate looks pants.0

Its not the choices themselves I object too, its being expected to pay for 'neutral decor' or 'stunningly presented' when for me all and any walls/floors/ceilings are probably goin to be changed to our personal taste. I couldn't care les if th walls were fusia or magnolia, they'll look the same UNDER my colour scheme.0

I like magnolia! I am getting rid of the wallpaper in my new house and painting it neutral cos that's my taste. I hate anything dark and don't mind colours as long as they are really light (I like those pale green heritage sort of colours)
I also want laminate floor, I was against it until my parents got it to cover ugly tiles and they got really good quality stuff. It looks amazing and I would never know the difference from wood. The only experience I had of it before was a lot of my friend's who live in city centre new builds with horrible pale cheapo laminate which looks yuck.
I now want to get laminate cos the dog is hairy and black and so he doesn't really mix with carpets very well. (unless the carpet is also hairy and black).
There are nice tiles in the hall which I will leave and laminate in the kitchen (it looks like laminate anyway - but it said wood in the details which I doubt TBH).
It is a shame really as there are brand new carpets in the other rooms but I just think it is really unhygenic and yucky. I only want it in the bedrooms. (cold feet in the morning!) The bathroom is also nicely tiled.
I am painting the lounge a cream sort of colour but leaving the rest for now as it is a really nice biscuity colour that I really like.
I like to be able to change the look of a room with a few cushions and a rug rather than having to paint the whole wall!
Round by me, finished houses go for the same as manky ones with horrible bright purple patterned wall paper etc so I didn't see the point going for a horrid one when I got my "immaculately presented" one for no premium!
It means I can do it up at my own pace, nothing actually needs doing at all.0 -
i live in a 190s cottage and its all magnolia, and yes laminate floors, thing is i like it like that and then i accentuate each room with a diffrent colour rug and accessories, i suppose im not artistic or imaginitive enough to do much else." I'm just a simple janitor, who can control people with my mind"0

Myabe if we wait long enough, Artex swirls on the ceiling will be fashionable again--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
We have wood floors (not laminate, I don't think) and I like them - don't find them cold at all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Agreed my parents had the proper stuff and where going to rip it up when the builder told them it was quality and worth a fortune, so the hired a polisher and buffed them up. It was a lovely old 1930s detached, it probably looks really old fashioned now as the kithchen was sepaerate from the living room and had a large window that overlooked the garden, I believe it is the fashion these days to build the kitchen in the living room for executive living.0
