Removing a default from my credit file

Hi all,

I have looked at my credit file through checkmyfile.co.uk and I have a default against my name for a mobile phone I am sure I have paid. I know experians website offers useful addresses to write to in this situation. Is there a way of getting this amended?

    Did you actually default on the payments?

    If you did, then they are unlikely to remove it.

    If you defaulted and then paid it will still show as a default but it should say it is satisfied. The default will still show on your credit file for 6 years even if you subsequently paid it.
