Nappys

I have been reading Martin's bit on Nappys.

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1128506182,71306,

And after having 3 kids all in nappys at the same time reusable nappys all got sold and we went over to disposable.

We had two buckets of nappy's soaking in Nappysan or tee tree oil the washing machine was going none stop 24/7 not to mention the electric / water / soap it used. Over the winter drying was a problem too.

It's hard enough to keep up with the cloths and bedding they dirty, without having nappys as well.

Thank God my daughter was toilet trained by the time she was 2 and dry at night by the time she was 3, it must be hell for people that have kids of 3+ still in nappys.

Just have to work on the twins (18mths) now, and get them potty trained before number 4 is born still I have 18 weeks before he comes.

We went to boots and got two pack for £16 plus 500 point.

We saved up to £120 on our card at one point.

They have now stopped the 500 points on this. hmmmmmmm

Hope they bring it back at sometime.... :rotfl:

Don't know how you coped with having 3 in re-usable nappies!!!!!!!
Bad enough having one 2 year old in disposables.
Seems to be a good offer for advantage points for Huggies in Boots online store. (Mentioned by someone on another thread.) Also the £15 of a spend over £100 online is quite an incentive.)
I am going to get the Boots catalogue and have a good browse.

Good luck with potty training the twins and the new baby.

We have used these for both our kids, both under 3 and they are brilliant. We dry store our nappies in a small swing bin, then pre-wash with tea-tree or lavendar oil. We can nearly get 2 days of nappies in our machine.

I use Tots Bots shaped reusable nappies on my nearly 4 month old baby and they are fantastic!

You don't have to soak them, I just put the dirty ones in a lidded bucket and pop them in the washing machine when the bucket is full.

I add a few drops of tea tree onto one of the nappies. I then add a slosh of white vinegar into the fabric conditioner compartment to keep the nappies nice and soft.

I use fleece liners, which I made myself (you can use an old fleece jacket). Tots Bots have just brought out a new nappy called a 'fluffle' they are gorgeous! so soft and fluffy! even better is that they dry in about 4 hours on a clothes horse! So you don't even need a dryer!

You do save money with reusables, BUT....cloth nappies can become addictive! lol I am always wanting to buy new cute nappies and wraps in different colours/patterns. :o

I used disposeables on my eldest son, but now I've tried cloth, I would never go back to stinky disposeables! :p
