Hi, sorry to have offended you.
while I know i don't have to defend myself to you, perhaps you'd like to know more details. Yes I have about £7000 for home improvements, and that has to replace the kitchen, the bathroom, the driveway, and complete the extension my husband has been building bit by bit for the last 3 years, oh and complete the garden! And all becasue when we sell the house we'll get the best money for it (its called looking after your assets). How much further would you like the money to go?
I agree the 50% was a good offer, but I'm not prepared to use nearly all the money i have, as its the last chance to finish the house.
All I was asking for was some advise on how to word a letter to make sure they don't keep bothering me.
Did you read Martins post about not putting people down?

I don't know if this helps but I offered 50% for a full and final on an old mobile phone debt. I had no response from the company for 2 weeks (which I stated in my letter) so threw the cash at another debt.

The company however wrote back to me offering a 50% f&f. By this time though, the money wasn't there so I phoned them (witheld number of course) and explained the situation. The guy who I spoke to accepted my monthly payment offer and also said that if I was in a position to do a 50% f&f before the debt was fully paid off, to phone them and they'd write to me to confirm it.

May be worth just paying a couple more payments then offering 30% again?

    £6551.35 paid so far.

This WILL be my debt free year! :T
  • thanks for your help. It might be worth a try. The payment was on direct debit, so I stopped that and will offer standing order only
I must stop them phoning me up though, so I'll use one of the stock letters I've seen, and request written only.
