how hard is it to get car finance??

Me and my husband are looking to get a new car.

He had finance before and hasn't missed a payment but had 2 defaults on his credit cards, they were paid off last November.

We got a computer from PC World a few months ago and got finance no problem - it was under my name.

Will we be able to get finance ok do you think because its secured on something?

any advice gretfully appreciated.

    Patsyg,

This is in no way meant to cause any offence but I read your other post and noticed you have just recently had a default removed from your credit file. Is more debt what you really want?

You have clearly stuggled to pay the bills before and from someone who owes quite a bit I never want a debt again in my life when they are paid off!

I've bought 2 new cars in the last 6 years which have contibuted to my debt.

Have you considered a second hand car? As soon as you drive away in your brand spanking new motor it has lost £100's if not £1,000's off the value!
  • I agree with Southernscouser, a car is a car, it gets you from one place to another, we sit in jams next to Ferrari`s and Bentley`s, the owners spend most of their time covering their faces with their hands, you have a look, it`s ironic. I have an old Volvo and would never buy a new car. Remember the Jones's can only go as fast as the traffic they are in, so why keep up with them? Buy second hand, in cash.

The default that was removed was a mistake by the well-known on this forum company called Thames Credit Limited. We have no defaults at the minute and are currently well in control of our spending, our car is 8 years old and we would like a newer one and its not a new car anyway.
