Advice on "Holiday Win" Please

I stumbled across this forum a month or two ago and entered a load of competitions over the course of about 3 days and then just lost enthusiasm to continue (combined with the "debt management" companies that had coincidently started calling me).

However, I've just had a call saying that I've won a holiday as the result of completing an online survey to a choice of destinations.

The sceptic in me is thinking there is a catch somewhere. Any advice on the questions I should ask to make sure this is legit? The fact that these debt management companies got my phone number has made me think that they're not for real.

They also gave me a number to call from a landline to verify something or other - is this normal? Or is it going to be a premium rate phone number?

Any advice appreciated.

This screams that it's a time share scam.

They'll ask for an administration fee.

    Avoid it

What number did they give you? My partner got a call(which i answered) saying he won something like that with a choice of destinations. He had to pick up the tickets from some hotel nearby and had to pay £29.95 per person for a booking fee. This company has since called almost every day and usually ask for me as i was the one that took the "winning" call although it is supposed to be his win.

Thanks, that was my main worry. Anyone else think the same or is there a chance it could be genuine?

If it's a timeshare they usually tell you that you have a choice of 3 destinations, ask if you are married, and a home owner.

I've had a few of these calls. As soon as they tell me that I've won a holiday I ask them if it's a timeshare, and they usually say that it is.

I'm guessing it was from CLC, there are numerous posts complaining about them all over the internet.

It's rotten when you get a call like that though, keep entering the comps and hopefully you'll win a 'real' one soon.
