ha ha Numpty - I am sure that where the scallywags live on the estates close to the station there are plenty of burnt out cars fords included LOL. No, this is a real watery ford by what used to be Hawkesley Mill and is in Mill Lane. It has ducks on it (well it did last week) and there is a little bridge over it for folks like me who don't want to get their feet wet.0
-
Thundering has now stopped - waiting for the next lot to arrive as its still very dark here. Some roads here are flooded too and tomorrow I might just be nosy and walk down to the ford to see if its flooded again.

Weve lost a few newbies and 1 or 2 decent regulars as a result of the Trolling over the weekend, from a few threads, we really need to keep our eyes peeled and try to stop them in their tracks or at least warn the newbies on those threads exactly what is going on. It really is growing out of hand and Im struggling to keep up with it.
I agree with the struggling to keep up with it Marley.
I don't have enough expertise to offer advice on DFW matters, but give newbies a bump whenever I can, but the number of newbies is escalating and it would be only to easy to spend all one's forum time trying to keep track, to the point where there's no time left for personal forum stuff.
Am I the only one who is getting a little bit peeved at the number of newbies who come on, get their question answered and are never to be heard of again?
I know some do stay and we were all there at one time and new blood is good, but I when I see the tremendous effort some of you regular guys and girls put in to help, it really naffs me off. We've all be in the situation of helping a friend in need only to see them bog off once they've sucked us dry.
I had a day off from the forum today and whilst pottering in the SUNSHINE  I guess I got to mulling and now I sound like a grumpy old f*art, but I am sure others feel the same.
Although it would make an easy target, it would also help the patrollers if all the newbie posts were coralled together [totally impractical I know].
Had to get this off my chest!0 -
Hi Nomad
You do have a point - there was a newbie the other day who came on claiming to have a load of debt and a business that he had sucked dry so people came on and gave him advice and pointed out to him that he probably owed corporation tax too. I offered him a business plan template and others gave him some valuable business advice and were prepared to help him and what happened - nada, he got his advice and toddled off.
Blame the weather for bringing out the wierdos and the trolls - its always the same. We cannot help if newbies disappear or if one or two regulars get so nissed off that they leave - that's life but what we can do is look after the ones that stay the best we can.
Hope you are having sunny weather and not the dreadful storms that we have had here?
ZTD - yes a ford has water on it - my local one normally has 1cm deep water but with all the rain today it must be at least 5-6ft deep:eek:0 -
i think we'll be doing this today
