Thats going to confuse my simple little brain !!! I`m a bit old fashioned....if I`m reading a book I don`t need `next` `previous` to work out what page I`m on!

Ooops was that a rant?...just ignore me it must be the backache!

Having spent the day 'trundling' the roads of Wiltshire in my little ASDA van - I didn't notice any difference.

You so do not want to go there, angel.

There is NOTHING even remotely'lovely' about trying to 'navigate' an ASDA van down lanes which are narrower than the van in all weathers, being 'told' by a computer that you can drive 12 miles in 10 minutes or having to carry six trays of 'shopping' up eight flights of stairs because the lifts aren't working.

And 'Cat Litter' weighs a ton - especially when you finally reach the flat and the 'customer' is just standing at the door, with a fag in her mouth, waiting for you to hand the individual items to her.

The 'final insult' is that we have to sign, before every shift a 'Happy to Help' sheet, confirming that we will greet the customer in a cheery manner and ask if there is 'anything else' that we can do to help.:mad:

Angel - I do this job because I need the money, no other reason, and at £6.13 an hour, I'm wondering if even 'shovelling brown stuff' wouldn't be better.

Still, bills must be paid, so I bite my tongue and get on with it. Having done the 'Boardroom Stuff' I know where I would rather be. But, hopefully, I won't have to do this for much longer.

The only way, sometimes, that I can steel myself to doing it is to paint an 'idyllic picture', but that, my friend, is far from the truth.

Yes there are, always jobs going as 'Home delivery Drivers', because the turnover is so high - over 40% at our store - but I would not wish the job on someone as nice as you. ;)

Gosh Rog are you OK Honey....heres a few <<hugs>>

That sounded like a bit of a vent ...hope you feel better now:o :D:D

I used to get that same sense of irritation from my job that I just left!!...I shall be looking for something else then :D:D

Actually how daft is delivering shopping & then having to ask if there is `anything else` you can do!?....put the shopping away, wash the dishes, hang out washing....hmmm would my local delivery driver put up this box of Ikea flatpack shelves that I can`t do?? :D:rotfl::rotfl:

Angel - you are very correct - it was a bit of a 'rant' - I actually "hate" the job with a vengeance, but, having been refused any 'state' help, including JSA, I have to live.

You are, however, correct in your assumptions - my first customer, last night, was really miserable about having to 'put all this away'.

I have, in the past, been asked to change lightbulbs, help carry out the rubbish and chase a stray dog out of a garden.
A colleague of mine asked a customer if he could 'use the loo' (something we're not supposed to do ) and the customer asked him to 'bring her hoover down' on the way back. :rotfl: :rotfl:

So far, thank goodness, no 'IKEA Flat Packs'. ;)

    Notice to newcomers re trolls.
    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
