In my local Sainsburys they have an introductory offer of 1/3 off Christmas gifts. I bought two bottles of Wolf Blass (Chardonnay Semillon x 1 and Shiraz Grenache x 1) in a nice gift box from £12 to £8.
Not sure if this was on all gifts or just the food & drink ones.

Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.

I grabbed a few offers myself this morning.
The 1/3 off is on until 1/11/05 or 06/11/05.
Staff discount also helped us with this one making it a better saving ! :j0 -

Sainsburys have one-third of some of their Xmas gifts until Nov 1st
Items like chocolate fondue set; childrens make your own pizza and some non-food gifts
Check the date on the food ones though - I noticed that some of the early discounts in M&S are best before the end of 2005 (not so good if for a present)0 -
Every year about this time, Sainsbury's start putting their christmas packs up on the shelf. These are the things that tend to get reduced to half or quarter price price in January, but until November, they tend to be a third off!
This includes some alcohol gift packs. Mostly they're not worth bothering with, but the Bailies pack comes with two nice glasses and a 75cl bottle. At the moment it's on sale for £9.39 (I think) where a single bottle without the glasses in the alcohol section costs £11.79.
They also had Bailey's Mini's crackers, which cost £6.66 for 6. Not a huge saving, as it only costs £1.11 a bottle rather than the £1.25 a bottle that it costs on the shelves, but they all come in a really nice cracker (so pre wrapped) and would make a great extra little something to bulk out a present. Lots of other stuff too:

Sainsburys have 1/3rd off Xmas gifts until 1/11/05 as I'm sure has been posted somewhere.
One of the gifts is a 3 bottle case of Campo Viaja (Spelling iffy probably).
The case is £10.47 in a presentation handled box.
The individual price is around £18.
Also things like Hobgoblin Beer - 2 bottles & a T-Shirt for £4.
As the individual price of the bottles is around £1.50, that makes the T-Shirt just £1.0 -
Campo Viejo Rioja is it? If so, that is a cracking wine.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
