It's a long time since I've made a macaroni pudding but from what I remember it was cooked very similar to a rice pudding with the addition of a couple of beaten eggs stirred through the milk, to make a sort of custardy base, and sprinkled with cinammon or nutmeg on top. If I manage to find the recipe I'll post it to the recipe board"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

My mum used to make a sweet milky macaroni pudding when we are little and I really fancy making it but I am not sure on the quantities. I searcged on google and all that I could find used eggs and were set puddings. My mum used to make it, I think just with milk, sugar and macaroni and then cook it in the microwave until soft. Does anyone have a recipe that sound like that??
Thanks in advance0 -
I used to make a sweet macaroni pudding when my children were younger (now in their late 20's).
From memory about 6 oz of macaroni, 2oz sugar, 1 pint milk, you can add dried fruit as well (if liked). Bring macaroni to boil in water, simmer for 10-15 minutes or until softened. Drain and add 1 pint milk and the sugar, bring back to the boil add fruit and simmer for about 5 minutes. The pudding can, of course, be cooked in the microwave or in an oven.
I will have to try it again myself, as sounds yummy.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
Thanks for that. Maybe it was a popular pudding back then as I am in my late 20's now!! I will cook this for pudding tomorrow as I think it will go down well with my kids!0
