Tefal Steam Generator 2911 - 1/2 price [CLOSED]

I was stunned, when looking for a new steam generator iron.. (first really annoyed as I've saved up all my Boots points, finally got my card posted out to me after loosing it, only to find Boots have cleared all their electrical goods to make way for christmas items and I couldn't get my iron!).

Anyhows, looking around, Amazon.co.uk have the Tefal 2911 steam iron on offer at £86.47 reduced from £124.47 with free delivery of course. Mine is arriving any moment :)

(non-affiliate link - dunno if you'd rather click through to Amazon via mse's affliate link (does the site have one?) I'm not really clued up about all that stuff)

Littlewoods have the same iron in their new catalogue at £175! and Freemans.co.uk have it for £179.

Sorry if this is not the most useful post, but Tchibo were doing something like this a short while ago for £49.90 with a 3 year warranty. I bought one, and have been absolutely gobsmacked at how quickly it irons even the most recalcitrant of creases. It may be worth phoning Tchibo to see if they have any more left.

There are other steam generator irons out there from around £50 upwards, however these are cheaper copies of the generators that go for £150-£250. Morphy Richards does a relatively decent one for arond £90. The reason I was so impressed with this offer is that it was the first time I'd seen one of the upper range ones discounted to below £100. So you are getting a pretty fantastic iron for just a little more than the really cheap ones.

As the last poster said, steam generator irons make a heck of a difference from normal ones -- I believe they iron through both layers of clothing so save lots of time! My aunt and cousins swear by them, hence we've been saving up to upgrade :)

I have the Tefal Turbo (actually never use the turbo button and it cost me an extra £30) the actual iron cost me £230 and I have had it about two years now, wouldn't ever go back to a regular iron. Have to say though that I will still iron both sides as am a bit of a saddo when it comes to ironing.

I have always like the tefal irons and it was a toss up between the polti and the tefal, tefal won for me because of the ceramic base, glides over the clothes much more easily than the stainless steel. My friend bought the polti and I think she was a bit gutted after trying my Tefal.
