cartridge refill problem

i have had a problem with exchange refilled cartridges for my CANON IP1800
i purchased them from cartridge world and was told that printer may say that ink is still low but just to carry on thats no problem, problem is printer just will not accept them in any way, a man from cartridge world very kindly came around with other cartridges and same problem, seems like you can only use real canon cartridges, hope this might help someone if they are thinking of getting a CANON IP1800
