Does anyone know of any magazines which publish short stories? Has anyone managed to get a sort story published and if you did how much were you paid?
I'm currently writing a short story for fun and just thought I'd see if I could get it published.
Thanks:D

Hi Becky 170
Best thing to do is flick through a few mags at your newsagents and check out the index to see how many stories they carry.
Different mags have different "themes" or "feel" to the stories they print so you would have to decide what type of stories you write, and to which magazine it is best suited.
You can buy paperbacks that would tell you all the practicalities of writing for publication but I suppose it's like painting - you're either talented or not!
Best thing is just jump in and try. Good Luck!0 -
A good source of information is the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook - there is a new one published each year, or you can borrow a copy from your local library. It will give you all the information you need in relation to publishers, magazines, newspapers, even greetings card companies.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0

MsLexia is a good source better than those Writers Magazines and they host many opportunites to be published.
I think someone said if you have Literary Talent and you practice writing you will be alright, if you haven't even if you write you are doomed. Forgotton source. Good luck.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
