That's good about the Egg Loan - 50p is nothing really.
I don't think you're allowed to earn much while on maternity but could you sign up to mystery shopping? Do clicks online? Surveys? Its all adds up.
Also, sign up to lots of baby clubs for freebies when the new baby arrives! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

No I don't as they only offer mortgages as borrowing and my mortgage is not with them thankfully! I hate people I know knowing how bad my finances are!Total Debt [STRIKE]£36323[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] £19000 January 20160 -

Excellent.
So I'd say your next move is to look at what you have in your account, what's due in next and when. And then what goes out inbetween so you can see how much you need to coverNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
HMRC changed the maternity laws last April - you can now do 10 days paid work (KIT days - keeping in touch), whilst still receiving your maternity pay. Your employers have to keep your job open for you, and are not allowed to refuse you if you request to work a few days while you are on leave. Any more than 10 days though, and your maternity pay stops. KIT days can be taken at any time in the statutory maternity leave period, except the first 2 weeks after the date of childbirth.
Has your OH sent his CV to supermarkets, bars, restaurants etc? Perhaps he could find a few hours a week at least until he can't get back to taxi driving?Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Thanks for the advice Gemmzie I have got enough to cover Junes payment of the secured loan and just need to scrape enough for the mortgage which isn't due until end of next week but the natwest are usually good with us and will allow us another week before chasing us. i have cancelled all the direct debits to prevent bank charges as they always make the situation worse especially as the alliance and leicester like to charge £25 for every one i can't pay!
In a way I can't wait to get back to work so i can bring a bit more money in!!Total Debt [STRIKE]£36323[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] £19000 January 20160 -

Your OH should be able to sign on a he was laid off, rather than just left. Get a claim in asap and then get a claim in for council tax benefit, even if its all for a couple of months it will stop you taking on more debt to cover everyday living.0
