I just wondered if anyone combines jobs in a certain area etc and what's the best way to do it (do you do them by date first or area first?). I'd love to be more organised with it all. TIA

Do you mean as in combining jobs in diff locations?
Well it depends - for example on Friday I was offered an audit in another town that is at least a 30 min drive for me - but I don't like to let this comp down and I remembered seeing a ms job in the same town on another ms comps site for a week or so - but hadn't bothered taking it as the fee would just cover the mileage to get there. So, I rang the ms comp doing the ms job and said I know you have this job, but noones taken it as its still on the site and I could do it but the fee just covers my mileage so they more than doubled the fee for me - then I agreed to the audit for the other comp. So, in the end I did both jobs and the 'extra' I got for the ms job covered the mileage making it worth doubling up on jobs.
Alternatively - if I see say bunch of visits that are identical scenarios (so not remembering different things) in a town then I'll book the lot and do them one after the other on the same day.
Is this what you mean Bob?0 -

I go by area and then date. I try and book my local area jobs in on the same day and I do the same for my local borough jobs, but just to give myself breathing space I book them in on consecutive days. I don't drive (yet) and it is important that there is a tube or train station near the location so I do try and book them in according to position on tube maps/tubes/train lines etcDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0 -
Does anyone have any tips for searching for jobs?
or remembering to check all the ones you are signed up for?
Is there a particular time of day/week/month that companies seem to put jobs on?
Im finding it a bit hit and miss at the minute and while its getting easier (I've been doing this for a month now) Im wondering if there are short cuts and hints along the way!
Feel free to PM me.
How often do people tend to check for jobs with certain companies...?
Any particular day, or time of day...?0 -
Yes, I was wondering this too...

There is no telling. Gfk and RE put them on at various times of the day. GfK though put them on over the weekend too. Bare, Tern etc often email to say there are jobs on. You should keep checking the alerts thread on this site. Hope that helps.Clique member no 1.:D0 -

I thought of this but wondered if I'd get confused on who said what on which MS and get them all muddled up........how do you manage it? I'm impressed16 x Sanyo HIT 240w panels, 3.84kWp, south facing, 30 degree slope in the SW, 4.4 Eltek HE-t inverter installed 27/03/120 -

Buy a reporters notepad (about 40p for a Tesco value one!) and keep it in your handbag.
I'm doing a few shops today - all different stores but ones where I have to ask for advise on something on the shop floor, then buy something to check the cashier.
I've got a page for each shop, with the store name and address on the top, brief note with the scenario details on, then details of the spend limit. I've got the pages in the order I'll visit.
I'll have a quick peek at my notes before I go into the shop, so it's fresh in my mind. Afterwards, I'll write down on that page things that happened in note form, plus all the usual bits - left, right, time in, time out etc. I'll type them all up this afternoon or this evening using my notes.
If it's a picture job, I'll also add on the number of the picture on my phone onto my notes. This is especially useful if you are doing a few branches of the same chain.
That works for me, but try other peoples methods too and see what you feel happiest with. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Beccles is very much the organised oracle on here! I am very impressed! I'm lucky to have a good memory and generally get the g/f to take a copy of the questionnaire in her handbag, after the shop we sit on a bench or wherever and I fill it in.0
