Changing my wage to go into a relatives account?

I am currently getting all the information i need (filling in forms etc) to petition for bankruptcy should be ready to take the plunge in the next 4 weeks.
In the meantime i have begun missing payments on a couple of loans and thus i am now over my authorized overdraft.
So i can get the funds together to pay for the BR petition i am thinking about having my wages paid into a relatives account and then having them transferred onto a pre-paid top-up card.
Has anyone got any experience of this and are there any pitfuls wiith regard to doing this before going BR????? For example would it implicate the relatives account in the BR?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I would have thought the OR would want access to the relatives account so he/she/it can check there's nothing funny going on, but from what my OR said, they don't need your permission etc to do this anyway, and if you aren't going to be doing anything funny with it (eg its just your wages going in and these either being transferred out to an identifiable source that in turn can be identified where the money has been spent from, or wages going in and being taken out as cash, with receipts to show what the cash was spent on (ie not a Harley/Bentley/Plasma Screen TV) then it should be ok).
My OR apparently investigated my partner's account and business account, or at least he threatened to, however if he has nothing has happened about it from OH's point of view and his bank haven't spoken to him about this.
As long as you're not using the money to favour creditors and can prove where it's going after you take it out of the relatives account, there shouldn't be an issue, but it's like anything with the OR - the more honest and upfront you are, the less hassles you will have off him/her/it unless you get a total git and then they will try to make your life not very nice (but you can always complain about them, so it works both ways).
Hope that helps

Could always set up the coop cashminder account in your own name, can be done over the phone: 08457 240752, probably approved in a couple of minutes, as checks are less stringent than for standard accounts and I had an account no and sort code within a week. Had to pop into the local bank with my passport but that was all.
Comes with a visa electron and my wages and pensions are being paid in, dds going out that I want to continue with, and no freezing once I had explained BR to them and the use of the account to OR.Bankrupt 11th June 2008

the OR doesnt have carte blanche to snoop into any bank accounts except the BR's, and if he gets caught doing so you can expect a bloody big newspaper expose, this is a government that has lost cd's with 200,000 personal DSS details on it, and THREE dosiers left on trains and buses! Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...0

There's a thread somewhere (had a quick look but I can't find it
) by someone whose husband was having his wages paid into his mother-in-law's account, only for her to spend it all!
I'm sure that's not a typical occurrence, but still...0 -
Thanks for your feedback guys.

Really??!! OMG there is no end of the lies my OR has told then - he said as he didn't believe or trust me he wanted to investigate any accounts that I might have had access to including my partners and parents - but I refused to tell him any details about my family (eg names or what country they live in!) so he couldn't pursue that one, but obviously my OH lives at the same address as me - don't know who was worse, RMA debt collection agency or my OR at the IS....hmmm. Very interesting Max, thanks, I shall have to investigate in case anything happens in the two months left of my BR and I need leaverage!Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
I'm not on for long but saw this and felt the need to post. At the end of the day, due to the Data Protection Act, the OR could not access your relatives' bank accounts without their consent. My wages have been paid into my partner's bank account, I explained to the OR that it was in case the account was frozen and he was fine with that. My place of work take a month or so to process change of bank details so my wages won't be paid back into my account now until the end of July although I will transfer over the money for direct debits.
At the end of the day the OR should say if there are any issues regarding your I&E which they need proof for. Other than that, your I&E should be enough to show where the money is going. I don't have a electron card so all of my transactions with the exception of direct debits just show cash withdrawals, I'd have a hard time keeping receipts for everything!

CCCS actually suggest people have wages paid into an account where you don't owe money even if it is a relative's account. I agree, why don't you open a coop account so you have control over your money? The OR cannot access anyone else's account without their permission. I would report their bullying tactics and this is not acceptable behaviour.
