Credit File HELP!!!

Hello all and thank you in advance for any help you may offer.
I have obtained my credit file from the three main sources(equifax, experian and call credit) on two of them is a debt which has shown me defaulting every month since 2004!! Now I have started to behave and as of May have started paying them some money on a monthly basis yet it is showing I defaulted in May and not paid a payment, I have called Egg who the loan was with and tey referred me back to the Debt collectors, I have spoken to the debt collectors who have referred me back to Egg so going around in circles!
All I want is for my payments to start showing on my credit file!!
Thank you

Once the account is defaulted, it will stay in default until it is settled.
That will mean that the monthly status codes will normally show a 'D' or '8' for a default every month even if you are making payments.
The original default balance at the time of the default (if recorded) will stay the same, but the current balance should go down as you make payments.
There is an example of a defaulted account shown by Experian below.
Other agencies/reports may show a line of 'D's to indicate that they account remains in default and unsettled as far as I remember.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
