Nothing was shifting around here for ages then in the last few days it suddenly looks like the estate agents have found the 'sold' boards they had misplaced since last August - couple with that, there was the 3.5% rise in retail sales in May...what is going on? Haven't people heard we are in a recession and credit crunch?

Well it's unlikely we'd ever get to the point where no houses were selling. It's How much they are selling for that's key!!... and the sales figures are in all liklyhood the nations women engaged in some illadvised retail therapy, to stave off the gloom, (no disrespect intended to the sensible ones to be found on MSE!!)0 -

Freudian slip, or knowing use of language... wouldn't an 'indian summer' be a short period of upbeat sunshine in the midst of the bleak and unrelenting winter of misery and despair we are currently facing?0 -
