Do you feed the staff at the wedding too.

Small wedding, private venue. Will probably end up having as many behind the scenes staff as we are having guests.I would feel bad at these people serving us,photgraphing us and entertaining us all day without feeding them too.But we are having a sit down dinner,5 course, very expensive per head and I dont know who I am expected to feed over and above the guests.
I will invite the celebrant to join us but what do the musicians, photographer and kitchen staff do?Especially need to know about the photographer as ours will be with us for 10 hours, when do they stop to rest and eat?

From my experience, the staff members normally get to eat at the end of the lunch/dinner service. But its totally up to the host whether they provide meals for the staff.
I am a videographer & Photographer and i normally eat after i have taken my necessary photo's & video shoots. I just help my self in the kitchen.0 -
We didn't feed the photographer - it never entered our heads! And the DJ for the evening do... well..
..the Buffet was there for the evening and I do hope they made full use of it - I would have been upset if they felt they couldn't  .:cool:0 -

As a wedding photographer I don't expect to get fed by the wedding party!!!!! If you feel you would like to provide then feel free they would probably appreciate it.
Photographer and videographers should NOT expect any food as they are charging - in some cases - enough for their services. Surely if they know what long hours they are going to be working then they should bring their own!!0 -
surely they are paid to do a job not eat ..............I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I'm a wedding photographer, as it seems are a few on here
, and I never expect a meal. I tend to work so much, and none stop that I do tend to overlook eating.. which isn't ideal! So it is a welcome bonus when food is provided, I just struggle to put the camera down long enough
As lemontart said, we are paid to do a job not eat... and as nell35 said they should bring their own/ they should plan their day well enough to be nourished.
It's a welcome bonus though
And I don't mean to moan.. but if I can't have my website link in my signature, then illusionmedia look out.. they may delete yours0 -
When I working in the catering trade and worked at weddings my employer fed their catering staff but normally the wedding party feeds the band/dj and the photographer if they're staying into the evening. In my experience the photographer has normally gone by then.0

We're feeding our photographer... and her husband... But they are very close friends! I would be tempted to supply some food for the catering staff and the photographer if they are going to be onsite for a while... Not necessarily the same food that you are having but maybe a small buffet in the kitchen they can pick at before / after they've finished serving the meal to you.... I know all the proffesionals on here say they don't expect it but it just seems polite to me that you would offer something...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
