    Whats video?

a VIDEO was a big metal box made in the last century that you shoved a small plastic box filled with miles of magnetic tape into to record your telly programmes, when you played the telly programme back you got to watch the colour wobble about and if you were really really lucky the big box might be hungry and eat the tape inside the small box.

They were usually sold by neandreathals in strange dark shops called Rumbelows or DER, quite often you also had a mini box with 2 buttons on it to plug into a hole in the front of the big box so you didnt have to get up to change the channel. Although the cable never quite reached your chair so you have to move a wee bit, but was handy for tripping up would be burglars in the middle of the night after you fell asleep in your chair drinking your milk stout.

for a real retro blast from the past treat look here (You need realpayer installed)
