Letter from DCA - is this good enough?

Hi
I found out I had a CCJ issued in 2004 last week  and paid the DCA the next day (last friday).
I have just received a letter from the DCA saying:
Balance: £0.00
We can confirm that, subject to clearance, our files will now be closed. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I was told by National Debt line that the DCA has to contact someone to get the CCJ marked as "satisfied" on my credit file etc.
Do you think i should just wait a couple of weeks and see what happens, or write to them now asking what is going to happen?
I wont be applying for any credit until 2010 (:rotfl: ) so no real need for it to happen now, just wanted it for peace of mind.

Hi Amy,
It's good they sent you a letter confirming the account has been settled. It can take anything up to a month for them to inform the credit reference agencies that the account has been settled. Maybe give it a few weeks and if it still doesn't show on your report then contact them.
BTW how are you getting on with your full and final settlement offers?

Hi

I think i will wait a few weeks.

If you have problems getting it marked as satisfied, then remember this bit.If you have not been able to get written confirmation from the person you owed the money to, you can still ask the court to remove the judgment or mark it 'satisfied'. If the court records do not show that you have paid your judgment, court staff will write to the person you owed the money to.
When that person replies to the court, or after one month of the court's letter if they do not get a reply, the court will send your request to Registry Trust Ltd. Court staff will send you confirmation that the entry on the Register has either been removed or marked 'satisfied'.
Registry Trust Ltd will then pass this information on to the credit reference agencies. But it may take a few weeks for your credit record to be updated.
That allows you to get it marked satisfied even if the DCA or Singlepoint can't be bothered to sort it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
