OS Daily for Saturday 21st June 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi all; just a quickie from me before I have my shower. I have been up for hours because I woke up coughing and spluttering at about 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep; I’m really tired now so I think I’ll end up having a nap sometime this morning!

DH is finishing off the porch today – well, putting a letterbox in the new front door. Luckily I was in when the postwoman called yesterday – I saw her coming up the drive and looking at the front door in puzzlement. She was relieved when I opened the door to take the mail from her.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Mrs Mix, Candygirl and her Dad, Jayward, Beth and her brothers, Aussie’s sis, and everyone else who needs them.

Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Anyway, off for that shower – maybe it will wake me up!

See you all later and have a great Saturday.

  • Morning All.

Its been ages since I've been on the daily, been lurking around the edges, but lost my os mojo for a while....but its back, and with a vengence it appears. For the first time in a year sky city has stayed tidy for a whole week (thank you flylady thread) and I have so much os stuff to do today the list is as long as my filofax paper.

So I'll have to get cracking on....oh who am I kidding, cup of tea and a gander at threads first, then attack list, although already put all dishes in the dw and a load in wm.

Hugs and loves to all who need and/or want

So, today is the longest day in the UK - sunrise was at about 0448hrs. Didnt get up quite that early, but am wondering if it will feel like the 'never ending story' at work today???

Hope it goes quickly, could do with pottering around at home.

Morning Mioliere & everyone who follows

The weather here is supposed to be vile but actually looks quite promising.
So much in fact that i`ve crossed my fingers and put a load of washing in so here`s hoping.

Yesterday we got lots done in the garden but not as much as i would have liked. I ended up painting one of the fences instead of doing the digging as Mr Sunnyday would not listen and tried to take over, this resulted in me finding something else to do whilst trying very hard not to belt him round the back of the head with the spade and very little converstation the whole day. Today DH is at work so i`ll be able to get tons more done on my own providing the weather stays nice and i shall talk to the animals all day :D

I can`t find the page of my meal planner with this weeks food on and it`s going to send me potty, it`s with my shopping list somewhere ( another reason to find it sharpish) and i`ve no idea whats for dinner tonight, hope it`s nothing thats in the freezer.
Well best go and look for it and start the chores.

Kathy - you will need a nap at lunchtime hope you feel better soon.

    Hugs for PenPin & Smoky

Candygirl - hope you managed to salvage some of the food from the freezer.

    Catch up later guys

    Morning.

It's wet and windy here and not very nice. I have a mini digger hired for today too and I think it's going to be one mess of mud and dirt. I had hoped for a nice sunny day, attack the job and then a nice family BBQ later. More like stew and light the fire!
I hope we are not going to get another British summer.

Not much else to say really.... have a nice weekend

Morning Early Risers and all who follow.

After comments above, dare not comment on the weather here, but if you are interested http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/SPXX0008.html :o Looks like Beth will be enjoying herself.

Had a lovely day yesterday, collected by some friends to be taken to some other friends of us both, we met via the "other friends" they live here permanently about 3/4 hr inland. Went to look at a shop/warehouse on the way there where they sell doors/kitchens etc., we are looking to put a store outside for the gas bottles for the water heater, and the folding bikes, covers etc., at the back of the drive, and found what we needed at what we think is a better price, but will find out that later. Then on to the "residents" who have a detached villa in its own pool, so after welcome soft drinks, decamped to the pool for an hour, before having "snacks" and drinks:rolleyes: . Meal at the local tapas restaurant around 9.30pm (Spanish do eat very late) There were 2 Spanish "hen" parties having a meal    , we could hardly hear ourselves think! Very loud, full of atmosphere but no animosity or trouble anywhere. Had some very nice Rioja with the meal, so head a little fragile this morning. DH still snoring (so what is new you say;) ) but think I need to wake him so we get to the market early, and then get out fast.

Apart from the fruit/veg/egg & bread shopping on market, no other plans for the day yet, though I think the pool may become part of them.

Mioliere - go and get sorted please - no good you no M-ing means we all have to make up for it. Have a nap later mate.

Pen-Pin - hope you are feeling a little better this morning - not long before you have your next treatment is it? Hope the Ploughman's went down well. Understand what you mean about "adult conversation" I miss some of the debates, discussions etc., from work at times, I am not really used to "femail talk" as worked with majority males.

Smoky - Glad the return to work went well, I think the idea for Christmas is very good, obviously it's going to be a different one, so best make it totally different. I would suggest you look for somewhere with some kids entertainment included as you need some time for you too.

Gentle (((((hugs))))) to all the above, and to everyone else, feeling carp, or who'd just like one.

Pen-Pen - hope you are fully over your bike accident now.

  everyone else

    Good morning all :hello:

donny gal - I love the tales of your life in Spain. Some of our friends used to live in Torre Pacheo for a couple of years, before moving back to the UK (moved there for work). I spent a lovely December day on their balcony in a t-shirt whilst my mum sent me a text from the UK saying that she was freezing at a rugby match. :D

It was great to wake up this morning and realise that I didn't have to go to work. :) In fact, I even went back to sleep. :D

I'm going with DH's two sisters for a spa day. Probably a good job as the weather is looking pretty grim here. Don't know whether to take my book or not. I'll probably take a really trashy one so that my brain isn't used too much. :D

Unsure of what supper will be today. We might be at the in-laws or we might be here........................

Have a good day all

Edited to add: Congratulations Dazi!

Good morning! It's started beautiful here, but I think we're due rain later, so I'm planning to sort some of my photos out.

I had a phone call last night from a friend who I've known for over 15 years - her DH has been offered a job in Melbourne, so they're off there for 3 years. DD wants to make them a photo album (my children and hers have grown up together) so we need to pick out some good ones.

We barbequed the rare breed meat that we bought at Lincolnshire show, last night, and delicious it was :T DH and I sat out and enjoyed the evening (and another glass of wine :p ) while the children watched the :footie: I was sad to see Croatia go out, but their flag will make a nice picnic blanket, so very OS ;)

Hummous, salad and HM flatbreads for lunch; fish for supper.

I'm hoping to get on and cover the ottoman box that I rescued from Freecycle later, too.

Congratulations to Granny Dazi _party_

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning all
Weather here is drizzle and DS has a fishing comp with Scouts:rolleyes: and DD1 is helping do a BBQ at a school fete with Explorers.
Had a nice eve out with my friend and her kids at Southend last night as there were cheap tickets in aid of the local Hospice with free ice cream all night had a really good time till i got back to the car and realised I had left the lights on and no jump leads:mad: finally a group of young men sropped and helped us out battery is now fully charged. Will speak to DH when he gets up about putting a set in there as it was his car as mine is making a funny noise and by looking on the net looks as if some joints have gone not the cheapest of jobs either:mad:
    Welcome all the newbies
    Hi to all those MIA:wave:
