Please take proper professional advice before converting joint unsecured debt to secured debt in your name. National Debtline perhaps?

You have not given enough information here for anyone to be able to say that this is the best decision for you.

Merlot and Suzy Su thank you for your kind words, life has been hard for me and only now do i feel that i am turning a corner, I have taken life assurance out as I would not want the kids to go through what i have gone through if anything happened to me, I will certainly stick around as I have found this an invaluable site there is truth in the saying the kindness of strangers as I feel that you are all such a great community.
Once I have paid off my debts I will not be getting credit for a very long time if not at all.

    Hi there Kiora.

So sorry to hear about your loss.

I can only repeat what George said about checking that you are receiving all the tax credits, benefits you are entitled to. Looking at your figures, I feel sure you should be receiving more.

Hi again Kiora - I'm sorry to hear about what's happened. It can't be easy for you but it seems that you are really keeping it together and being strong for the children. It's hard, but there is a light, you just need to walk through the tunnel towards it. Keep posting on here and everyone will help you to do that.

As you can see I've not been registered long, but find the forum completely addictive. There are so many knowledgeable people on here who will help and support all the way.

Just come on here to have a good rant if you want to.

    Good luck in your journey.

The only benefits I am entitled to is WTC, bereaved parents allowance and child benefit, unfortunatley I will lose all these when kids leave school so will then just be on basic salary £12k

I would like to say a big thank you for all the support I ave received from this board, also it has given me some good ideas to make some more money so in the last couple of days I have :-
    1. Signed up to Quidco
    2. Decluttered the cupboards and started a pile to sell on ebay
    3. Gone through cupboards and freezer to make daily menus for coming week.

These are just small steps but if I hadn't found this board would still be carrying on as normal. I have also set myself a challenge to live on £50 per week (excluding electric as that is on a key meter)so that is for food, petrol and pocket money.

So wish mre luck and again thanks to all on this Wonderful board.:j :A
