Has anybody learnt the Alexander technique? How much did it cost? How effective was it?
I'm very interested as I have some orthopaedic problems and am hoping this would lessen the pain!
Hoping for some MSE suggestions on finding as cheap a course as possible in London.
Thanks

I learned the technique whilst learning how to swim - it was a god send. I'll try to hunt down the info I have, although the guy who does only does it in south wales.0

Hi
I was just about to post on this about dental treatment when I came across this thread - we can vouch for the swimming without stress lessons: they are excellent and Ian and Cheryl are lovely. Several members of my family had some lessons earlier this year and we strongly recommend them!
Not cheap but well worth it.

I learned to swim late in life and am not confident if the pool is crowded. I also suffer with bad back, which would be helped by swimming.
I shall look into booking a course.0 -
I currently have Alexander Technique lessons. I find that they're really helpful to help release tension and relax. I have them to improve my flute playing.
I would advise anyone who can do some to do them. I paid £130/6 lessons but they're worth that much.
This website might help: http://www.stat.org.uk/ or http://www.paat.org.uk/ or the Yellow Pages?0
